It seems to me that the whole idea of entertaining is to care for the comfort and wishes of the guests....
How rude for a host or hostess to comment on how long a guest stays. Such a person lacks social skills and takes things too personal IMO.
i'm looking for some feedback here.
hl and i like to socialise sometimes, and this often results in us hosting small parties for a few friends.. often our friends reciprocate, and then we enjoy being guests instead of being hosts.. but we keep encountering a dilemma.
one set of friends like us to visit them for afternoon bbq's or sometimes for evening dinner parties.. now, no problem with dinner parties, but if say we go to a bbq at around 4.30, they expect us to remain with them for the entire evening right through until around 11 pm or midnight, the same time as we'd stay to if we went to a late dinner party.. personally, i've had enough at about 9 pm, that's 5 hours, so we like to leave and have a pint or two in the pub on the way home.. now this makes them quite angry and they say that we're being anti-social because we are off to the pub instead of spending the whole evening with them.. i maintain that if you go to tea or a bbq in the late afternoon, then it's quite acceptable to depart earlier than if you went to a late dinner party.. what do you think?.

hmmmmm lovely lummily gorgeous day as celty sleepily rubs his eyes peering mischiviously at the world, ahhhhh the sun is shining again, its obviously going to be another glorious and grand day!!.
now, there was something i was going to remind myself of today, oh thats it, yonks back along, i was in the most contorted state in my head as many here know, now tis a new week and my favourite day of all for peace, quiet and reflection.
i must remember a few things this week in fairness to some of you more cantankerous lot.. that just as i was in one right hellish state of mind a long time ago, and it we'ren't at that time feeling too good with me emotions mashed an all, well, i must remember to show more patience and consideration for others who might be in similar frame of mind right now, new posters on jw.com, i must be kind and look after their needs, not shoot them down in flames just as i would have respected others to not do so back then when i was trying to find my way out of that kind of maze of recovery issues and feelings.
Excellent photographs Celtic! You are quite talented.
DanO, your Irises are lovely also. I heard you all got a good storm this past week up north. Hope everything is well.
(((Hugs)))from your fellow Hoosier.
a little boy goes to his dad and asks, "what is politics?".
dad says, "well son, let me try to explain it this way: i'm the breadwinner of the family, so let's call me capitalism.
your mom, she's the administrator of the money, so we'll call her the government.
Bwaaahaaahaaahaa!! That is so right on. Thanks for the giggles WT

if the watchtower society decided to develop a line of products for the public (uh, besides the ones they already have of course, uh-hum), what kind of products and sales campaigns do you think they might come out with?
ok, a goofy idea for a thread, but i thought it might be fun.
how about a line of kingdom shoes?

cannes, france (reuters) - u.s. director michael moore's ``fahrenheit 9/11'' won the top award at the cannes film festival saturday.. thanking the jury headed by cult director quentin tarantino, moore said: ``you will ensure that the american people will see this movie.
'' moore's win capped a politically charged festival, with documentaries and films reflecting troubled times and french show-business workers staging demonstrations and sit-ins to protest against cuts in their welfare benefits..
nice!
LOLOLOL
Xena asked, Can we all hold off flaming each other til we have seen the movie?
Where is the fun in that?
But you are right that we are judging from his previous works. Michael Moore and controversey go hand in hand though.
i just finished watching "splendor in the grass".
for some reason i love to torture myself with sad movies and sad songs.. the end of that movie is so heart breaking.
actually its bitter-sweet but when you are still stuck on someone who you cannot have it is heart-breaking.. i had to restrain myself from calling my ex.
"Dark, sinister, and great acting"
Yes indeed. I love the way they used close-ups, shadow and light, and sound effects in those old movies. No amount of technicolor buckets of blood can scare me (just grosses me out). But those old movies send shivers at times.
Like when they used a close up on Bela Lagousi's eyes and used light to emphasise evil....ewwwwwww creepy! (Dracula)
That was talent!

Also Celtic, the photos themselves are outstanding. Did you take them? They really are artistic and beautiful.
